This Class is designed for groups who love to spend time in the Garden.
The class is a bit different than the Basic First Aid Class since it focuses
on the issues that gardeners face more on a regular basis.
This class is recommended for School and Community Gardens.
* Learn the signals of and care given to a person experiencing
anaphylaxis (causes by bug bites/stings or plants).
* Learn how to report the event of an allergic reaction and
your care given to EMS personnel.
* Learn the use of an epinephrine auto-injector.
* Learn the signals of and the care given to a person experiencing
an asthma attack.
* Learn how to report the event of an asthma attack and
your care to EMS personnel.
* Learn the use of a meter-dosed inhaler.
* Learn to identify the signals of and care for common sudden illnesses.
* Learn to control external bleeding.
* Learn the signals of and how to care for heat-related illnesses
and cold-related emergencies.
* Learn how to care for someone who is having a seizure.
* Learn to care for head, neck and spinal injuries.
* Learn to identify signals of and care for various
soft tissue and musculoskeletal injuries.
* Learn to identify signals of head, neck and spinal injuries.
* Learn to care for and splint muscle, bone or joint injuries.
* Learn to identify hazards in the garden and how to correct them.
* Practice time for splinting may be added to the class (optional)
Course Length: approximately 2 hours and includes Before Giving Care.
There is no certification for this class.
